Ashley joined Foodshed Capital in June 2022 as part of our communications team. As our needs evolved, she began to work closely our lending team to manage repayment and loan administration. At the end of 2023, she took the lead on a complete overhaul of our loan application and servicing platform, which she now manages. Ashley also serves as the main point of contact for our team as we track and report numerous impact metrics.

Born in Gonaives, Haiti and raised in Georgia, Ashley has always been surrounded by farm life. She cultivated a passion for the environment from an early age, harvesting vegetables and feeding the rambunctious goats and curious chickens on her parents' farm. Ashley earned a Bachelor's degree in Global Studies with a concentration in Cultures and Communications from the University of Richmond in May 2021. Over the course of her academic career, she worked as a student researcher studying the effects of climate-related variation performance traits across the invasion front of gypsy moths. Alongside her studies, she worked as an Environmental Justice intern as well as a Culture Advisor, devising inclusion initiatives and creative opportunities for students to gather in the midst of the pandemic. Ashley now lives in Midlothian, VA where she enjoys reading and practicing yoga.
