Donahue's Livestock Farm

Malone, NY

0% interest loan funded Dec. 2022

Founded in 2016, Donahue's Livestock Farm raises beef, pork, and lamb to sell to restaurants, schools, and more across three counties in upstate New York, the Adirondacks, and the "North Country." Owners Brandon and Katie Donahue have been farming since 2007 and raising their livestock naturally without any growth hormones or antibiotics. Recognizing the lack of processing facilities in the region, Donahue's Livestock Farm is fundraising to open a new, federally-inspected red meat processing facility to expedite animal harvesting and processing for themselves and nearby farmers. Their mission is to provide meat options people feel good about feeding to their families.

Foodshed Capital, in partnership with Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA), supported Donahue's with a 0% interest loan for equipment and renovations of a retail butcher shop that they will operate as Donahue's Chop Shop, where SNAP and EBT will be accepted.
