Livengood Family Farm focuses on fresh air, sunshine, green grass, and well-mineralized healthy soil. With these priorities, the Livengood family raises non-GMO produce and pastured livestock, avoiding insecticides, herbicides, antibiotics, and hormones. The Livengoods maintain organic practices above and beyond certification standards and sell their healthy and nutrient-dense farm products both online and at farmers' markets throughout the county. After being awarded a PA Farm Vitality Grant in 2020, Foodshed Capital provided the family a 0% bridge loan to fund their business planning assistance, which allowed them to explore new sales channels and distribution models and create a sound five-year business plan.
