North Mountain Pastures is a small-scale diversified livestock farm in Perry County, PA. On 84 acres, Anna and Brooks raise beef, pork, and poultry in a way that heals the land, nourishes people, and treats animals with respect. With a little help from their children, these farmers have been selling their pasture-raised meats directly to consumers through a CSA since 2009, and are working towards a food system in which farmers receive fair wages and consumers receive the highest quality taste and nutrition. In 2020 North Mountain Pastures was awarded a Pennsylvania Farm Vitality Planning Grant, which allowed them to critically analyze operations, sales, and margins. A bridge loan from Foodshed Capital ensured North Mountain Pastures would be able to pay for this analysis while awaiting grant reimbursement.
